Honiton Charter Day

What's on this year?

All day will see the traditional Honiton street market, with numerous stalls dressing to mark the occasion.

There will be the annual Classic Car Show over Allhallows, put on by Honiton Lions, as well as a fine selection of fun and entertainment, bouncy castle, plate smashing, boot sale, refreshments and a bbq plus much more...

We're having the dog show again, after a great response last year, kindly organised by Bordercombe Kennels and sponsored by Creature Comforts.  Anyone with a four legged friend can enter their pooch into the fun classes; can your canine 'leave the sausage' or whose dog has the 'waggiest tail'?! Prizes and rosettes for the best in their class!

There's going to be charity stalls down Northcote Lane raising funds and awareness for all their good causes.

We've got a whole range of entertainment on in the High Street including, among other, The Raddon Hill Clog Morris Dancers, folk music and the Honiton Tudor Dancers, being held at various locations including St Pauls, The Baptist Church, Abbeyfield, and the library.

A schedule is now available on our 'Programme' page for all the town's performances.

The library are going be open all day and will be having two displays about the old days of Honiton and a history of the market charter as well as author's corner where some well known published writers will be talking to visitors.

Or you can simply come along, and laugh at the stallholders and various shops, around the town who are dressing themselves and their shops/stalls up for the day.  Many are putting on their own displays and curiosities and there will be a 'Spot the Object' competition for our younger visitors available from Honiton Toy Shop.

On the subject of the smaller members of the town on the day, get your paint brushes out as we're holding an art competition.  All entries will be displayed in the town on the day one of the judges is our own Town Crier.
